Stigmas
Hi people, welcome to my blog, today I am going to talk about stigmas.
This is a subject that really upsets me, I am going to explain you why.
I think, prejudices will always exist, it´s a way to adapt us to the world, to guide our actions, and it is useful in situations when you dont know what kind of people is involved, to take care of yourself. The problem is when some people has stigmas over a group and they don't take into account that they are more than that stigma. For example, people who think that a social movement is composed by offenders, tend to hate them, before getting to know them. They consider that if a person is part of that group, that person has the caracteristics that they attribute to that group.
I believe people are more complex than that. They have different types of personalities, experiences, interests, backgrounds, and more, all this things combined make you who you are, and not just your ethnic or social origin, belonging group, clothing, or friends.
The stigmas are the base of the discrimination. If a group is described with some caracteristics, probably a big part of the group are like that, but in personal relationships, you can´t define a person based only on a stigma.
Thank you for reading, have a good day.
